CAIRO, Ill. -- Carl E. Lane, 69, of Wickliffe, Ky., formerly of Cairo, died Monday, March 14, 1994, at the home of a daughter in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born May 1, 1924, in Charleston, Mo., son of James and Suddie Blackburn Lane.
Lane was a retired mechanic from Valley Steel Co. in Cairo. He was a member of Cairo VFW Post 2649, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; a daughter, Margaret Stout of Cape Girardeau; a son, Charles Lane of Wickliffe; two sisters, Louise Swank and Thelma Laird of Charleston, and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Dan Greene officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
