PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Carl R. "Corky" Leuckel Sr., 85, of Perryville died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at Independence Care Center.

Carl was born March 18, 1930, in Potosi, Missouri, to Carl N. and Clara Bell Newcomb Leuckel. He married June M. Huber on May 12, 1951, in Perryville; she survives.

He worked for St. Louis County Water Treatment and retired after 26 years of service, and also was a farmer. "Corky" served two terms as Perry County's first district commissioner and was a member of the Perryville Elks, where he served as a trustee, and also a member of the Riverhills Eagles, where he had served as a past president. He also was a supporter of the AmVets and the VFW.

Loving survivors include his wife, June Leuckel of Perryville; three sons, Carl "Topper" (Mona) Leuckel, Paul (Christy) Leuckel and Jon (Tina) Leuckel, all of Perryville; six grandchildren, Brad, Scott, Mark, Robin, Jewelia and Tammy; five great-grandchildren, Macey, Jesse, Drew, Lacey and Clayton; and one sister, Marie McCarty of West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Velma Campbell.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. There will be an Elks Service at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Eagles Service. Visitation will continue from 6:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Milton Ryan, CM, officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
