Carl Brune

Carl J. Brune, 81, of Friedheim died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 2, 1922, at Friedheim, son of O.H. and Mellie E. Crites Brune.

Brune was a retired farmer and president of Arnsberg Insurance Co. He was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim and held numerous offices, and was a member of American Legion Post 133.

He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II.

Survivors include four brothers, John Brune of Perryville, Mo., Cleo and Kelly Brune of Friedheim, Clyde "Bill" Brune of Sedgewickville, Mo.; six sisters, Mary Brune and Loral Brune of Sedgewickville, Verna Hobeck of Daisy, Jean Seems of Peoria, Ariz., Ruth Kutscher of St. Louis, and Dorothy Buck of Parma, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and Friday from 6:30 a.m. to noon. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, with the Rev. David Burge officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
