Carey Cade Carter III, 69, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Hartwell, Georgia, died Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at his home.

He was born Dec. 3, 1952, in Anderson, South Carolina, son of Carey Cade and Lois Cribbs Carter Jr. On Dec. 31, 1979, in Lilburn, Georgia, he married Patricia "Pat" Eileen Enderle of Kelso, Missouri.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.

Carey was preceded in death by his parents; son, Carey Cade IV; and his nephew, Ross Treadwell.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Erin (Chris) Pulley of Jackson, Travis (Amanda) Cook of Decatur, Georgia, and Vickie (Jim) Reeves of Bethlehem, Georgia; sister, Martha Carter Cook of Greensboro, North Carolina; brother, Allen W. Carter of Hartwell, Georgia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and also by his special fur baby, Southside.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Missouri Veterans Home.
