Mary Camille Hill Stone, 104, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Aug. 14, 1905, in Matthews, Mo., daughter of Frederick Allison and Bertie Amelia Shields Hill.

Stone was a member of Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church, VFW and Eagles Auxiliary. She attended Steimle Business College in Cape Girardeau. She taught at Warner School in Matthews, was chief operator with the telephone company in New Madrid, Mo., was a stenographer for Missouri Institute of Aeronautics in Sikeston, Mo., and was a secretary at Scott County Milling Co. and Cargill, retiring after 33 years.

She is survived by a son, Fred (Brenda) Stone of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Julie (Bob) Pastrick, David, Michael (Janine), and Eric Stone; and two great-grandchildren, Camille and Noah Stone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by two sisters, Ruth Buchanan and Aleta Harb.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. John Goodwin, pastor of Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
