Calvin C. Livingston, 78, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, March 9, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 29, 1928, in Holly Springs, Ark., son of Delmer and Rosie Glover Livingston. He and Donna Mae Phelps were married Aug. 4, 1951, in Piggott, Ark.

Calvin served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. His military career began Sept. 22, 1948, in Shreveport, La. He was headquartered at the James Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas, where he attained the rank of staff sergeant on March 9, 1951. He was honorably discharged Aug. 9, 1952.

Calvin retired from Prudential Insurance Co., where he worked as an agent and then staff manager. He was employed at Commercial Mail in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau and held various offices throughout his membership.

In addition to spending time with his beloved family, he especially enjoyed bass fishing on Kentucky Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Cape Girardeau; a son, Kenny Livingston of Shawneetown, Mo.; two daughters, Pamela Hamilton and fiance Kenny Ward of South Bend, Ind., Linda Wessel and husband David Joe of Gordonville; and a brother, Robert Livingston of Shreveport.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Kara (Mickey) Sissom of Cape Girardeau, Chris (Becky) Livingston of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., Stephanie Kirn of San Diego, Calif., Angela Dodds of Cape Girardeau, Austin and Joseph Wessel of Gordonville; four great-grandchildren, Paige Kirn Hurt, Haillie Dodds, Kylie Sissom, Karsynne Livingston; and two great-stepgrandchildren, Todd Sissom and Garrison Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen; and two brothers, Herbert and Donald Lee, all of Louisiana.

Friends may call Monday, March 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, at First Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. William "Bill" Burke officiating. Burial will follow in New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials are suggested to First Church of the Nazarene, Cape Girardeau.
