PUXICO -- Calvert W. Little, 81, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. He was born April 16, 1918, in Mountain View, Ark., son of Claude and Lucy Woods Little. He and Christine Lawrence were married in 1939 at Bloomfield. She died Jan. 22, 1985...

PUXICO -- Calvert W. Little, 81, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born April 16, 1918, in Mountain View, Ark., son of Claude and Lucy Woods Little. He and Christine Lawrence were married in 1939 at Bloomfield. She died Jan. 22, 1985.

Little lived in Southeast Missouri most of his life. He worked 30 years in St. Louis, retiring as a welder with Grand Manufacturing.

He was a member of Hobbs Chapel Methodist Church near Puxico. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include four sons, Bill Little of Dudley, Jerry Little of St. Louis, Danny Little of St. Petersburg, Fla., Terry Little of Cadet; and a daughter, Charlotte Lashman of St. Louis.

Also surviving are three brothers, Louis Little of St. Louis, Leo Little of East Prairie, Troy Little of Morehouse; three sisters, Bulah Fitzgerald of Middle Brook, Mary Hicks of Florissant, Velva "Teed" Hankins of Morehouse; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Amos Dees will officiate. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery near Dudley.
