CALISTA LUMSDEN

SIKESTON -- Calista Lumsden, 89, of Sikeston died Friday, April 16, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 4, 1909, in Ocean Springs, Miss., daughter of Fred Davidson and Jence Carter Newcomb. She and Donald Kenneth Lumsden were married in 1946. He died June 26, 1996.

Lumsden was a 1931 graduate of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

She had lived in Sikeston since 1960. She had been a transcriptionist in medical records at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Lumsden was a member of First Christian Church and a deaconess emeritus.

Survivors include a son, Donald Lumsden of Sikeston; a daughter, Bonnie Lumsden of St. Louis; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Ed Pangburn will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
