CHARLESTON -- Cal "Kittie" Moore, 73, of Charleston died Saturday, April 5, 1997, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
He was born April 12, 1923, in Leland, Miss., son of Ed and Anna Bell Harris Moore. He and Bobbie Sims were married June 12, 1985.
Moore served in the U.S. Army during World war II.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Charletta Johnson, Gloria Asiedu, Lydia Pettis, Ethell Bibbs, all of Chicago, Mildred Garcia of Pulaski, Ill.; six sons, Chris Moore of Charleston, Dennis Hicks, Joseph Bibbs and Calvin McCray of Chicago, John Taylor of Midlothian, Ill., Dwayne Presswood of Kankakee, Ill.
Also surviving are three brothers, Nathaniel Moore and Hadell Johnson of Chicago, Willie Moore of Charleston; two sisters, Georgia Robinson and Lula Anderson of St. Louis; 35 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with Major Clark officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery in Mound City, Ill.
