C. Paul Story, 65, of Kennett, died Monday, May 16, 1994, at Kennett Health Care Center. He was born Sept. 16, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, son of Clarence Paul and Alice Allison Story. He and Mary Emily Turner were married Dec. 22, 1949. C. Paul Story, 65, of Kennett, died Monday, May 16, 1994, at Kennett Health Care Center.

He was born Sept. 16, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, son of Clarence Paul and Alice Allison Story. He and Mary Emily Turner were married Dec. 22, 1949.

Story attended schools in Jackson, and received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University in 1950.

He served in the Army National Guard from 1947-69, retiring with the rank of captain.

Story was associated with the accounting firm of Kraft, Miles and Company more than 40 years, retiring in 1992 as partner-in-charge of the Kennett office.

While in the accounting profession he was active and had been president of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and was made a life member of the organization in June 1993. He also was a member of the board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Story had been past president of Kennett Jaycees and Kennett Chamber of Commerce, past board chairman of Kennett United Methodist Church, past finance chairman of Seminole Boy Scouts, past treasurer of Delta Fair Board, past officer of Kennett Rotary Club, and past member of the Advisory Board of Blue Shield of St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary Story of Flower Mound, Texas; a son, Eric Story of Kennett; a sister, Betty Hager of Cape Girardeau, and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.

Friends may call at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Kennett. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery there.
