SIKESTON, Mo. -- C.G. Scott, 81, of Sikeston died Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 9, 1934, in Tebbetts, Missouri, to the late Clyde Gordon and Violette Hall Scott, he was a 1951 graduate of Morehouse High School.

He served as a medic in the U.S. Army and was a self-employed farmer. C.G. was a Pioneer Hybrid dealer/distributor for over three decades. His numerous agricultural achievements over the years included the 1967 University of Missouri Balanced Farming Award, the 1969 State Farm Management Award, as well as several yield awards for corn, soybeans and milo. He was a member of the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston.

On Nov. 27, 1954, in Matthews, he married Darlene Thomason, who preceded him in death May 27, 2011.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Tina Scott of Sikeston; one daughter, Darla Scott of Jackson; one sister and brother-in-law, Mona Lee and Armon Keaster of Columbia, Missouri; three grandchildren, Drew Roberts, Jerod Scott and Taylor Scott; and one great-grandchild, Dane Roberts.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Larry Smith, pastor of the Church of God in East Prairie, Missouri, officiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Jerod Scott, Taylor Scott, Drew Roberts, Kevin Heuiser, Mike Richards and Steve Calhoun. Honorary pallbearers will be R.L. Richards, Dwight Vaughn, Jim Sanders, Armon Keaster, James Thomason, Dickie Gossett and Joe Silverthorn.
