SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Burley Lee Flanigan of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bob Burns will officiate, with burial in Bernie Cemetery. SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Burley Lee Flanigan of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bob Burns will officiate, with burial in Bernie Cemetery.

Flanigan, 79, died Sunday, March 6, 1994, at his home.

He was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Warm Springs, Ark., son of Joseph Newton and Margaret Elizabeth Wolridge Flanigan. He and Nora Noggle were married Sept. 1, 1979, in Sikeston.

Flanigan had farmed, and was a bridge maintenance worker with Missouri State Highway Department 17 years. He was a member of Temple of Faith Baptist Church here.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dewayne Flanigan of Chaffee, Doug Flanigan of Maplewood, Harold Flanigan of Eureka; a stepson, Cletus Noggle of Sikeston; four daughters, Louise Scism and Vina Burton of Morehouse, Carol Cook of Pevely, Jane Parks of Maplewood; a stepdaughter, Felicia Cavender of North Little Rock, Ark.; 25 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, daughter, three brothers and eight sisters.
