Burl Lewis King, 73, of Missouri Veterans Home died there Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998.
He was born April 4, 1925, at Campbell, son of Clyde and Mae Myrtle Poe King. He married Sue Whitsett, who died in 1967.
King lived in St. Louis 50 years, moving to Cape Girardeau in 1993. He was a carpenter, retiring in 1989.
He served in the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart with cluster. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Moreland of Sikeston; two brothers, Gary Huff of St. Charles, Don Huff of Conroe, Texas; three sisters, Geraldine Hull of Cape Girardeau, Pat Stull of St. Charles, Della Moore of Florissant; a friend, Mary Chapman of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Friends may call at the chapel Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
