BUNKIE CANADY

ORAN -- Bunkie Franklin Canady, 88, of Oran, died Monday, April 15, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 4, 1908, in Newton County, Ark., son of John and Laura Bell Thompson Canady. He and Versie Mae Henson were married Dec. 22, 1959

Canady had worked for E.P. Coleman and at International Hat Co. He was a current member of United Pentecostal Church at Sikeston, and was a member of Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church at Oran 33 years.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Velmar Canady of Morley, Johnny Canady of Sikeston, Bobby Canady of Oran; eight daughters, Josia Cooper of Jasper, Ark., Laura Sirmins of Kingston, Tenn., Dorothy Mason of California, Nola Way of Houston, Texas, Kathy Sauceda and Lisa Gadberry of Oran, Edith Riggins of Dexter, Tammy Belt of Poplar Bluff; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Schott of Oran; two brothers, Lonzo Canady of Gilroy, Calif., Albert Canady of Mt. Judea, Ark.; three sisters, Josie Horn of Mt. Judea, Lessie Clarida of Harrison, Ark., Gertie Phillis of Gilroy; 42 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Jim Mahurin and Gene Warren officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
