Bud Whitlatch

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Harvey L. "Bud" Whitlatch, 69, of Scott City died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at his home.

He was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Trumann, Ark., son of Fred Otho and Bessie G. Whitlatch.

Whitlatch lived in Scott City the past four years. He was a truck driver. Beginning in 1988 he was a van driver for Family Counseling Center in Scott City, where he was fondly known at Mr. Bud by staff and clients. He was a member of First General Baptist Church in Scott City.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Fowler Whitlatch of the home; his mother, Bessie Williams of Trumann; Patty Lancaster of Trumann, whom he raised as a daughter; a stepdaughter, Tammy Zitter of West Plains, Mo.; a stepson, Jason McCormick of Scott City; three sisters, Nina Trenthem, Norma White and Mary Jane Richardson, all of Trumann; two grandchildren, Richard and Gary Clayton of Trumann; a stepgranddaughter, Danielle Hagan of West Plains, and a stepgrandson, Dalton McCormick of Scott City.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1977, a sister, and a brother.

Friends may call at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Jenny Rukstad, the Rev. Larry Rouse and Dr. Tad Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City was in charge of local arrangements.
