CHARLESTON -- Bryan Keith "Big B" Gillespie, 34, of Charleston died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia.
He was born Sept. 9, 1963, at Charleston, son of M.C. and Omagene Brinston Gillespie.
He was a graduate of Charleston High School and was employed as a truck driver for Terra Industries of Sikeston. Formerly, he worked as a bus driver for the Charleston R-1 School District.
He was a volunteer assistant with the Charleston High School basketball program and was a member of the Charleston branch of the NAACP and the Charleston Concerned Citizens Community Group.
Survivors include his mother; two brothers, Gregory Gillespie of Miami, Fla., and Schuyler Gillespie of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Carla Gillespie of Minneapolis and Lana Gillespie of Charleston.
Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston, with the Rev. Isaac Kindred Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
