Bruce "Mr. B" Brinkmeyer, 52, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Sept. 2, 1955, in Cairo, Ill., son of Robert William and Martha Gannon Brinkmeyer. He and Denise Miller were married July 20, 1984, at St. Patrick's Church in Cairo.
Brinkmeyer was a 1973 graduate of Cairo High School, received an associate's degree in education from Shawnee Community College and attended Southern Illinois University.
He taught at St. Joseph's School in Cairo 15 years, coached football at Cairo High School 20 years, was a lab assistant at Bunge Corp. in Cairo, and served as head of maintenance at Notre Dame Regional High School.
Brinkmeyer also coached and was active with Cairo Little League baseball. In addition, he coached basketball at St. Mary's Grade School.
He was an active member of St. Mary's Cathedral and taught children's church. He was a past president and member of Cairo Jaycees.
Survivors include his wife; mother and stepfather, Martha and Gerald Curt of Villa Ridge, Ill.; a son, Jeremy Brinkmeyer of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Steve Brinkmeyer of Cairo; and a sister, Mary Franklin of Cairo.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Notre Dame Regional High School. A prayer service with rosary will be held at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the high school, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery at Villa Ridge.
