Bruce Arnold Boulden, 65, of Jackson died Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Bruce Arnold Boulden was born to the late Charles and Edris Mildred (Williams) Boulden on Oct. 28, 1950, in Chicago. He was a beloved husband, brother, friend, nephew, grandfather and uncle who absolutely loved life and those that were part of his life.

He served in the U.S. Army for three years.

Serving in the military was an honor to him; however, when he turned his life over to God, this was to him the greatest honor of his life. He served at Joyful Praise COGIC as head deacon for five years and enjoyed serving and praising God. He became employed in May of 2014 at the county assessor's office in Jackson. Because of health conditions, he had to retire from this job, but he never retired from God. He faithfully served at Joyful Praise until his health could not allow him to serve. Bruce A. Boulden was an educated man and loved to learn. He attended the Cape Career and Technology Center and Southern Illinois University, where he received a certificate in networking and an associate's degree.

Bruce Boulden leaves to mourn his death his wife, Angela Boulden of Jackson; daughter, Tammalynn Phillips of Chicago; two stepdaughters, Angelica M. Johnson of Philadelphia and Kwajalyn Johnson of Cape Girardeau; one stepson, Gregory V. Johnson Jr. of Cape Girardeau; brothers Blair Boulden and Leslie Boulden, both of Chicago; sisters, Stephanie Boulden, Erica Reed and Darralynn Boulden, all of Chicago; grandchildren, Maya, Amber, Andre Jr. and Anastasia; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Micheal Boulden; brother, Eugene Boulden; and granddaughter, Adreanna.
