CHARLESTON -- Funeral for Brooks McEntire of Charleston will be held at 1 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Bill Bradley and Gary Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time.

McEntire, 47, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at his home of an apparent heart attack.

He was born March 4, 1952, in Jonesboro, Ark., son of Jess and Jewell Irene Holder McEntire. He and Rose Gould were married Sept. 8, 1973.

McEntire lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a mechanic at Parts Express in Sikeston, and a member of Charleston Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Matthew McEntire of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Andrea McEntire of Cape Girardeau; five brothers, Cecil McEntire of Jonesboro, Tommy, J.B. and Jessie McEntire of Charleston, Russell McEntire of East Prairie; three sisters, Nadine Brady of Charleston, Flossie Hurst of Jonesboro, and Mary Chappell of Sikeston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
