Scott City - Brian Michael Lowery, 65, of Scott City died Monday, December 20, 1999 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 29, 1934, in Trenton, Tennessee, the son of Alvin Ethridge and Beulah Mae Holt Lowery. He married Virginia Crews on August 7, 1954 at Rives.
Brian loved and served the Lord's Church with all his heart. He was a Church of Christ Minister for 40 years, serving 7 in Chicago, 9 in Memphis, and 24 in Scott City. He was a bus driver for Scott City Schools for 8 years. Brian was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University.
Brian is survived by his wife; three sons, Michael and Jeffrey Lowery of Scott City and Steven Lowery of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Stephanie Hosey of Scott City; a brother Joe Lowery of Poplar Bluff; nine grandchildren, Timothy and Jennifer Lowery, and Victoria and Lindsey Hosey of Scott City, Susan Lynn, Brian, Carlin, Ian, and Alison Lowery of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by one son, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City with Ted Spencer, Jim Shaw, and Cecil Anderson officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Crews, Elwood Crews, J.E. Crews, Kenneth Crews, Lonnie Crews and George Clark. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Timothy Lowery and Brian Lowery.
