Brian L. Duschell, 66, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at his home.
He was born Nov. 13, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, to the late Harry R. and Grace E. Farmer Duschell.
Brian was a 1965 graduate of College High School where he was a star athlete in basketball and baseball. He retired from Procter & Gamble and loved to fish, hunt and golf. Brian lived his life serving others.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Buchheit Duschell of Jackson; a son, William "Bill" Teri Duschell; two daughters, Emily (Waylon) Thompson and Shannon (Tom) Fornkohl, all of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Bradley (Marcia) Duschell of Henderson, Nevada; five grandchildren, Austin and Morgan Duschell, Wyatt Thompson, Thomas and Nora Fornkohl; and former wife, Susan Foeste.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel, 1904 W. Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Weston Wildauer officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
