Brenda Sue Thele, 68, of Jackson passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 22, 1946, in Lutesville, Missouri, daughter of Gerald "Jerry" and Oma Lorene Wiseman Leamon. She and Henry "Harry" Thele were married Aug. 7, 1965.
Brenda was a 1964 graduate of Woodland High School at Marble Hill, Missouri.
She worked for Procter and Gamble in Cape Girardeau from 1985 until 2005 and was a raw-material coordinator in the tissue and towel department.
She was a member of Church of Christ in Jackson.
Brenda enjoyed being with her family; reading and writing poetry; and cooking, her specialty being chicken and dumplings.
In addition to her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Harry, survivors include a daughter, Candice "Candi" (Stephen) Hill of Jackson; two grandchildren, Dustin (Shara) Hill of Advance, Missouri, and Mackenzie Hill of Jackson; and a great-grandson, Connor Mowery.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Belenda Brown.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Brian Mitchell and Edd Sterchi officiating.
Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
