CHAFFEE, Mo. — Brenda Louise Stroder, 65, of Chaffee died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 18, 1942, at Blodgett, Mo., daughter of Elmo "Bill" and Mary Orzella Lindsey Gunter.
Brenda retired as postmaster at the Whitewater post office. She served as president of Scott County Historical Society and Scott County Democrat Club and was a member of Cape Girardeau County Historical Society, Chaffee Historical Society and 8th District Women's Democratic Club.
Survivors include a son, Skip (Jamie) Stroder of Crump; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Stroder of California; three brothers, James "Al" Gunter of Chaffee, Roy Gunter of Benton, Mo., Daniel Gunter of Seattle; a sister, Sharon Anielake of Benton; two grandchildren, Cody Michael Schremp and Tyler Stroder of Crump.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Stanley and Gene Gunter.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Vyron Yount officiating. Burial will be in Barks Chapel Cemetery at Crump.
