ORAN, Mo. -- Brenda Sue Blocker, 68, of Oran passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Pop City, Mo., to the late Junior Jackson "Jack" and Joyce J. Boley Callow. She married Jerome Thomas Blocker July 6, 1963.
Brenda had been a secretary at Oran High School, legal secretary for Blanton Law Firm in Sikeston, Mo., and retired as warehouse manager at Story's Food Giant in Sikeston. She was a member of Hooe Baptist Church in Oran and volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She was an Oran High School class officer in 1963, member of the high school alumni association, and worked on and helped organize class reunions.
Survivors include her husband, Jerome of the home; two sons, Kent (Tammy) Blocker and Gary (Gina) Blocker of Oran; five grandchildren, Tyler S. Cookson, Austin Blocker, Garrett Blocker, Zach Baker and Mollie Campbell, all of Oran.
She was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Richbourg officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
