Brayden Michael Rodgers, 6, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis. He was born May 3, 2005, in Abilene, Texas. He is the son of Brian and Stephanie Rodgers Myers. Brayden attended Jane Long Elementary in Abilene, and was a first-grade student at Alma Schrader Elementary School in Cape Girardeau. Brayden Michael Rodgers, 6, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born May 3, 2005, in Abilene, Texas. He is the son of Brian and Stephanie Rodgers Myers.

Brayden attended Jane Long Elementary in Abilene, and was a first-grade student at Alma Schrader Elementary School in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Ranch House Fellowship Cowboy Church in Abilene and attended La Croix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Stephanie and Brian Myers of Cape Girardeau; father and stepmother, Bryan and Nicole Edwards of Twain Harte, Calif.; four sisters, Brianna Jones of Abilene, Atlanta, Katheryn and Samantha Edwards of Twain Harte; two brothers, Kolton Myers and Taz Jones of Abilene; maternal grandparents, Mary A. Rodgers of Abilene and Steve and Stephanie Rodgers Sr. of Talty, Texas; paternal grandparents, the Rev. Jim and Cindi Harcourt of Abilene and David and Mary Myers of Victoria, Texas; paternal great-grandparent, Oma Myers of Dallas.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to service time Thursday at La Croix United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Ron Watts and the Rev. Brad Miles officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, St. Louis, MO 63104-109, or to the family of Brayden Rodgers for funeral expenses, c/o La Croix United Methodist Church.
