McCLURE, Ill. -- Bonnie Emmalee Pickel, 81, of McClure died Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Union County, daughter of Earl Eugene and Viola Wareing Eudy. She and James F. Pickel were married Dec. 5, 1954, in Anna, Illinois. He preceded her in death March 7, 1997.
Bonnie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She loved fishing and kept numerous foster children over the years.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Mehrle (John Eisentraut) of McClure; two sons, Jimmy Lee Pickel of McClure and Jeffery Lynn (Kim L.) Pickel of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Jason Pickel, Derek Mehrle, Dasha Fehrenbacher, Justin Pickel, James Pickel II and Bonnie Pickel; nine great-grandchildren, Jordan Pickel, David Mehrle, Janson Pickel, Samuel Mehrle, Jastin Pickel, Jacob Pickel, Jaegen Pickel, Eli Fehrenbacher and Jarrett Pickel; five sisters, Ermadell Elkins of Anna, Shirley Miller of McClure, Naomi Clark of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Peggy St. Cin of Cape Girardeau and Deanie Hinkle of Jonesboro, Illinois; other relatives; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James F. Pickel; three brothers, Ernest Eudy, Elvis Leon Eudy and George William Eudy; and a son-in-law, David Mehrle.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nathan Burgell officiating. Interment will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
