AUSTIN, Texas — Alberta “Bobbye” May Hoffman Morrow, 86, of Austin passed away Friday, April 21, 2017.
The daughter of John Albert and Ruth Freeman Hoffman, Bobbye was born Feb. 4, 1931, in Kingman, Kansas.
She graduated from Kingman High School and attended Wichita University, now Wichita State University, in Wichita, Kansas.
Survivors include sons, Christopher C. (Carmelita) Schaefer of Austin and Stephen M. (Jeretta) Schaefer of Charlotte, North Carolina; stepsons, Dennis I. (Bonnie) Morrow of Moore, Oklahoma, and Randy G. (Theresa) Morrow of Greenwood, Indiana; along with seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and brother, Charles Hoffman, she was preceded in death by husbands, Clyde C. Schaefer and Ralph I.
Morrow.
She was employed by Wetterau Wholesale Food Distributors in St. Louis in the accounting department until 1984. After moving to Virginia, and later Indiana, she was employed by McDonald’s until June 2015.
A longstanding and active member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church of Greenwood, Indiana, she later became a parishioner at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church in Austin.
She was a devoted practitioner of crocheting and made many cherished, beautiful heirloom keepsakes over the past 70 years. Lastly, she deeply loved playing Scrabble, dominoes and cards with friends and family for nearly her entire life.
Following a 10 a.m. visitation, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. July 15 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood.
