Bobby Joe Walker, 60, of Cape Girardeau went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at his home.
He was born June 3, 1945, in Cape Girardeau, son of Joseph and Thelma Virginia Barnett Walker.
Mr. Walker worked more than 12 years at Colonial Manor, more than five years at Atlas Plastics, and more than 23 years at VIP Industries. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where he was a very faithful and committed member, and often ushered at all services. He was a past member of Red Star Baptist Church.
He is survived by a sister, Jan Williams and husband Barry of Cape Girardeau; an aunt, Lucille Walker Davis of Cape Girardeau; an uncle, William Henry Walker of Jackson; two nieces, Sarah Elizabeth Parsons of Cape Girardeau, Kimberly Robinson of Seattle, Wash.; and a nephew, Jason Kenneth Parsons of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Ray Walker Feb. 13, 1966, and a sister, Patsy Ruth Walker Parsons Dec. 13, 2003.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund.
