FREMONT, Mo. -- Bobby Gene Parkhill Sr., son of the late William and Eunice Kester Parkhill, was born Sept. 7, 1948, in Van Buren, Missouri, and departed this life Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, in Fremont. He had attained the age of 72 years, 10 months and 29 days.

On Nov. 10, 1973, he was united in marriage to Felicitas Dehoyos in Texas.

Bobby had resided in Fremont since 2008 and was formerly of Cape Girardeau. He was of the Christian faith and had attended the Liberty Baptist Church in Van Buren.

Bobby worked at the Cape Girardeau city street department for 20 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years and was an E-7 master sergeant before retirement.

He enjoyed being outdoors, cooking, fishing, deer hunting, classic cars and holidays. Bobby was a great husband, dad and friend. He was a good Christian man, big-hearted and would help anyone in need.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Felicitas Parkhill of Fremont; two sons, Bobby Gene Parkhill Jr. of Chaffee, Missouri, and Jeffrey Parkhill of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, John William Parkhill of Ellington, Missouri; Kenneth Parkhill of Cape Girardeau; Terry Parkhill of Van Buren; and James Parkhill of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Margie Allen of Hillsboro, Missouri; Violet Franklin of Cape Girardeau; and Ethel Bell of Kemper, Texas; grandchild, Alexander Parkhill; and many other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lee Parkhill.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren.

The funeral service following at noon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Bill Orr will officiate. Burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery in Van Buren.
