Bobby Gene Nanney, 78, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 7, 1937, near Millersville to Lester and Bessie Masters Nanney.

Bob attended the former Big Springs Grade School near Millersville. He worked at the former International Shoe Factory in Perryville, Missouri, and served honorably for eight years in the former 140th Infantry of the Missouri National Guard in Jackson. He was a lifelong livestock trader and also worked as a concrete finisher for Sides Construction in Cape Girardeau. He loved farming and going to auctions and thoroughly enjoyed “striking a deal.”

Loving survivors include three children, Michelle Nanney of Jackson, Travis (Kristi) Nanney and their son, Lucas, of Tilsit, and Chris Nanney of Jackson; and dear family friend, Misty Koenig and her children, Macy and Tristen of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roy Nanney.

Cremation accorded by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A graveside service will be private at Lessley Ridge Cemetery in Bollinger County.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Lessley Ridge Cemetery for purposes of cemetery maintenance on to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
