CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Bobby N. Hester of Chaffee went to heaven on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at 95 years old. He was born Sept. 21, 1925, to the late Ross and Ellen Hester in Delta.
Bobby retired from Tri-Con in Cape Girardeau, but for many years worked at the shoe factory in Chaffee until it closed. But his best times were spent raising cattle on his farm outside Chaffee and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy in Delta.
Bobby married Ruby Seabaugh of Chaffee on Nov. 17, 1943. She survives.
Apart from his wife, Bobby is also survived by three sons, Jerry Hester of Jackson, Gary (Brenda) Hester of Chaffee and Robert (Lisa) Hester of Bell City, Missouri; five daughters, Joyce Baker of Sadler, Texas; Paula Roberts of Cape Girardeau; Julia (Dave) Woodruff of Rosser, Texas; and Susan Hester and Denise (Bud) Haislip, both of Chaffee; 13 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by a son-in-law, Dale Baker; daughter-in-law, Nancy Hester; four sisters and a brother.
Through hard times and good, crying and laughing, his faith in God, devotion to his church and love of family, he was truly blessed.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Danny Freeland officiating. Burial will follow at the Kenyon Cemetery in Delta.
