TAMMS, Ill. -- Bobby Joe Gunning, 69, of Greenville, Ill., formerly of Tamms, died Monday, March 9, 2009, at Greenville Regional Health Care. He was born Dec. 24, 1939, in Tamms, son of Michael Walter and Melba Sims Gunning Sr. Survivors include two nephews, Michael Gunning of Cape Girardeau, Mark Gunning of Texas; two nieces, Joyce Ann Monk of Newburgh, Ind., Cheryl Gunning of New Orleans; and a sister-in-law, Delores Gunning of Metarie, La...

TAMMS, Ill. -- Bobby Joe Gunning, 69, of Greenville, Ill., formerly of Tamms, died Monday, March 9, 2009, at Greenville Regional Health Care.

He was born Dec. 24, 1939, in Tamms, son of Michael Walter and Melba Sims Gunning Sr.

Survivors include two nephews, Michael Gunning of Cape Girardeau, Mark Gunning of Texas; two nieces, Joyce Ann Monk of Newburgh, Ind., Cheryl Gunning of New Orleans; and a sister-in-law, Delores Gunning of Metarie, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Michael W. Gunning Jr., Gerald Gunning and Patrick Gunning.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. today at McCrite Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating.

Memorials may be made to McCrite Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
