Bobby Bollinger

Bobby R. Bollinger, 72, of Jackson peacefully passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at his home, with his loving wife, Thelma, at his side.

He was born April 27, 1933, in Mayfield, Mo., son of the late Truman D. and Mildred Mayfield Bollinger. He and Thelma Cook were married Oct. 14, 1953, at Little Whitewater.

Bobby was a 1952 graduate of the former Patton High School. He worked 29 years at the former Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau. For the past 20 years he has owned and operated Bob's Lawn Care.

He was a lifetime member of Little Whitewater Baptist Church. He especially enjoyed gardening, landscaping and outdoor activities.

Loving survivors include his wife of 52 years, Thelma; a son, Rodney R. Bollinger and wife Sandy of Leonard, Texas; two daughters, Deborah Lee and husband Kenneth of Fredericktown, Mo., Susan Jones of Springfield, Mo.; three brothers, Samuel Bollinger of Perryville, Mo., Paul Bollinger of Fruitland, Daniel Bollinger of Jackson; and a sister, Carol Williams of West Frankfort, Ill.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Tracy Carlton, Brittany Lee and Ryan Lee, Justin Bollinger, Rebecca Randolph, Valerie Hicks, Jeremy Harris; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sister, Shirley Banks, in 1993.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Revs. Don Estes and Don Slatton officiating. Interment will follow in Pulliam Cemetery near the Little Whitewater community.
