Caton, 82, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, in Spokane.

She was born Jan. 13, 1917, at Illmo, daughter of Robert Wendell and Sarah Elizabeth Lindsay Church. She and James P. Caton were married Jan. 16, 1940, in New Mexico. He died Aug. 18, 1978.

Caton had been a teacher. She was a member of Jonas Babcock Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include a son, Hal Caton of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Kimberly McCollum of Spokane; a brother, William Church of North Little Rock, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
