Bob Tyler, 80, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Crossett, Arkansas, to John and Albin Kennedy Tyler. He and Clara Martin were married April 20, 1958, in Sikeston, Missouri. Three sons were born to their union -- Gary, Keith, and Christopher.

Bob worked 10 years as a route salesman for Coca Cola; 25 years as a regional route salesman for Frito Lay; and most recently worked 18 years in pharmacy and flower delivery for Schnucks in Cape Girardeau.

He was of the Assembly of God faith, and in his younger years, he worked extensively to implement the Royal Rangers program in several churches.

Loving survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Clara Tyler of Jackson; three sons, the Rev. Gary (Gloria) Tyler of Jackson and their children, Cameron, Dawson and Courtney; the Rev. Keith (Debbie) Tyler of Pinkneyville, Illinois, and their children, Joshua (Nicole) and Aaron; and the Rev. Christopher (Joy) Tyler of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gaylon Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In keeping with Bob's heart for missions, the family suggests memorial contributions to the donor's choice of missionary work.
