SIKESTON -- Robert D. "Bob" Hope, 85, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Westwood Hills Nursing Center.
He was born April 1, 1913, in Flatrock, Ill., son of Erskine Tedford and Ethel Rebecca Doak Hope. He and Anita G. Greer were married Aug. 17, 1939, in Conway, Ark. She died Dec. 24, 1989.
Hope owned and operated Hope Auto Electric in Sikeston from 1951-89. He was a member and former deacon of Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church, was a 3rd Degree Mason, and had been a member of Masonic Lodges in Dexter and Sikeston.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Roberts of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Christine Hutchison of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Tom Bass will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel Wednesday from noon until service time.
