Bob Hess

Robert Gene "Bob" Hess, 72, of Jackson passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 18, 1948, in Parma, Missouri, son of Robert and Fleeta Jones Hess. He and Dorothy Dallas were married, and she preceded him in death.

Robert was employed 20 years at Florsheim Shoe before going to work for Purina Golden Cat, both in Cape Girardeau, where he retired in 2005.

Loving survivors include a son, Bobby (Misty) Hess, and his grandchildren, Kevin and Savannah Hess; and three brothers, Bill Hess and Roger and Lynn Jones, all of Jackson.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Elijah Allen officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

The family suggests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
