ESSEX -- Blanche M. Strickland, 89, of Essex, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1995, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton.
She was born April 11, 1906, at Glen Allen, daughter of Harry P. and JoAnn McCormick Liley. She and Claud Strickland were married Oct. 6, 1928, at Gideon. He died March 12, 1969.
Strickland was a member of Church of Christ.
Survivors include four daughters, Bernice Cox of Dexter, Marie Bakker of Maryland Heights, Janie Curry of Bridgeton, Lucille Garrett of Albany, Ga.; a son, Doyel Strickland of Essex; three brothers, Woodrow and Adam Liley of Flint, Mich., Cecil Liley of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Beulah Ingram and Velma Pavy of Flint, Pauline Paul of Metamora, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Norman Atchley and Herman Morse officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex.
