Blanche E. Gatewood, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, May 5, 2000, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born April 19, 1911, at Perry, Okla., daughter of Fred and Emma Schultz Rendla. She and Hugh Gatewood were married Dec. 31, 1933, at Perry.
She was a former member of an order of Eastern Star, the Clay County, Ark. Extension Club and the Kingdom Builders Sunday school class. She and her husband moved in 1980 to Cape Girardeau from Piggott, Ark.
Survivors include her husband, of the Lutheran Home; a son, Cecil Dean Gatewood of Ottawa, Ill.; two daughters, Darla Snider of Cape Girardeau and Wynema Gatewood of St. Augustine, Fla.; a sister, Lorene Mielke of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Wesley Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
