CAIRO, Ill. -- Birtie Bonds, 101, of Cairo, formerly of Mounds, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was born May 20, 1893, in Jackson, Tenn., daughter of Stephen and Pattie Cole Ingram. She married J.B. Bonds in 1920, who died in July 1970...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Birtie Bonds, 101, of Cairo, formerly of Mounds, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born May 20, 1893, in Jackson, Tenn., daughter of Stephen and Pattie Cole Ingram. She married J.B. Bonds in 1920, who died in July 1970.

Bonds was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Mounds.

Survivors include a daughter, Rachel Thompkins of Mounds; 15 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Bethel Church, with the Rev. Albert Ingram Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday at the church from noon to service time.

Sparks Funeral Home of Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
