MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Billy Dale McFarland, 83, of Marble Hill died Sept. 18, 2010, at the family farm, the result of a farm tractor accident.
He was born Oct. 9, 1926, at Matthews, Mo., son of August M. and Luie Shell McFarland. He was married March 18, 1949, to Lula B. Hendrix. She preceded him in death Jan. 13, 1996.
Mr. McFarland was a farmer and a member of the General Baptist faith. He loved the farm and visiting various churches in the area.
Survivors include four sons, Bill D. McFarland of Wills Point, Texas, Louie C. McFarland of Hamilton, Ohio, Thomas M. McFarland of Glenallen, Mo., the Rev. Dale McFarland of Sikeston, Mo.; three daughters; Leda J. McFarland of Sikeston, Janice S. Lee of Cookeville, Tenn., Candy Lynn Irwin of Atoka, Tenn.; two sisters, Barbara Jane Stogsdill of Bloomfield, Mo., Patsy R. Cult of Barlow, Ky.;18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Timothy, daughter Sandy, one infant brother and four sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Liley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Adams officiating.
Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery near Marble Hill.
