Billy E. McBride, 60, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born April 7, 1940, in Sallis, Miss., son of Elmer and Birdie Mae Acy McBride. He and Patricia A. Harbin were married July 9, 1961, in Hobbs, N.M.
McBride received an associate's degree from Hines Junior College in Raymond, Miss.
He was a sales representative with Jim Wilson Co. 20 years. He was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church.
McBride was a lance corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from December 1958 to May 1966.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald W. McBride of Pocahontas, Steven McBride of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Lisa LeGrand of Scott City; his mother, Birdie Mae McVeety of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Glen McBride of Jackson; five grandchildren, Sonya LeGrand, Tiffany LeGrand, Heather McBride, Kelsi McBride, Cody McBride; two stepgrandchildren, Melissa Langston and B.J. Langston.
He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the chapel, with the Revs. Vic Van Schaik and Lee Whitman officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with military rites by members of the 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment of Bridgeton.
