Billy G. Gramlisch, son of the late John and Annie Sadler Gramlisch, was born June 19, 1932, in Chaffee, Missouri, and departed this life Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson at the age of 89 years.
On a dare after their first blind date, Billy married Clara Driskell on June 19, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death Feb. 12, 2019.
Billy was a former bricklayer with Local Union No. 23 out of Cape Girardeau. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a resident of Delta. He was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life and was passionate about his family, especially the grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Mark) Perry of Delta; sister, Emma Hanlon of Delta; three grandchildren, Jim (Carla) Perry, Travis (Jayme) Perry and Eric (Kathy) Perry; five great-grandchildren, Brittney (Cody) Mayfield, Megan (Auston) Kirkpatrick, Triston (Dailey Bond) Perry, Blake (Natalie Kindle) Perry and Jeremy (Cooper) Perry; and three great-great-grandchildren, Jaci, Briar and Kyson.
Besides his wife and parents, Billy was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Ray, Leonard and Lester "Pooge" Gramlisch; three sister, Edna Crowden, Dorothy Menz and Mary Stoffregen; and a granddaughter, Cinda.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral service will then be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Fred Berry officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, Missouri.
