SIKESTON -- Billy Gene Western, 56, of Sikeston died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at his home.

He was born on Feb. 15, 1942, at Miner, son of Jim and Carrie Caryle Western.

He was an assembly worker for General Motors in Wentzville for 25 years.

He was a member of the Bement Baptist Church and the American Legion post in House Springs.

He served in the Army and the National Guard.

He moved to the area from House Springs.

Survivors include a son, Billy R. Western of Sikeston; two daughters, Karla J. Fodge and Lisa G. Western, both of Sikeston; two brothers, Jimmy and Carl Western, both of Sikeston; four sisters, Linda Ramsey and Mable Holmes, both of Sikeston, Alma Smith of Morehouse and Burma Baker of House Springs; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today in the Nunnelee Chapel in Sikeston.

The Rev. Billie Butler will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery at Bertrand.
