MOUNDS, Ill. -- Billy Eugene VonNida, 63, of Farmington, Mo., formerly of Mounds, died Tuesday, April 19, 1994, in a nursing home at Farmington. He was born April 29, 1930, in Pulaski County, son of George O. and Blanche Atherton VonNida. VonNida served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. MOUNDS, Ill. -- Billy Eugene VonNida, 63, of Farmington, Mo., formerly of Mounds, died Tuesday, April 19, 1994, in a nursing home at Farmington.

He was born April 29, 1930, in Pulaski County, son of George O. and Blanche Atherton VonNida.

VonNida served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Underwater Demolition Team in Coronado, Calif., and past member of Mounds VFW Post 8891.

Survivors include a brother, Gordon VonNida of Mounds, and a sister, Edna King of Anna.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds after 11 a.m. Thursday.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery at Villa Ridge, with military rites conducted by Mounds VFW Post.
