Billie R. Murph, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 6, 1927, in Center, Texas, to B.O. and Jewell Defee Potts. She and Audie L. Murph were married Sept. 12, 1950, in Texarkana, Ark.

Billie was a member of Maple United Methodist Church. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1961 from Marion, Ill., and had previously lived in Texas. Billie was a former member of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband, Audie L. Murph of Cape Girardeau; a son, Donald (Karen) Murph of Dallas; two sisters, Ruby Gunnels and Betty Willis of Center; five grandchildren, including Jessica (Tim) Huseby of Virginia and Erin Murph of Dallas; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Frances Henson; and a brother, Jack Potts.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with the Rev. Barron Willer officiating.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Maple United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
