Billie Faye Davis

Billie Faye Davis, 63, of Jackson passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Mo.

She was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Morrilton, Ark., to Willie and Almeda Davis Garmon.

She was a 1964 graduate of Central High School in Hayti, Mo. She then attended nursing school for three years in Columbia, Mo.

She returned to the Jackson area in the early 1970s and worked in nursing and teaching. She later started a 20-plus-year career with Procter & Gamble.

Survivors include three children, Michael (Mandy) Garmon of Springfield, Tara McClanahan, formerly of Jackson, and Ronald Garmon of Jackson; her mother, Almeda Jones of Jackson; six grandchildren, Brittany, Jazz, Rodney, Tashina, Gabrielle and Terron; and 18 siblings, Willie Mae, Tommy Lee, David, Charles and Dorothy Garmon, Charles, Carl, Eric, Steven, Teresa, Shirley, Teddy, Richie and Juanita Garmon, Gary, Melvin, Richie, and Jody Jones.

She was preceded in death by four sons, Terry, Donald, Eric and Deric Davis; her father; a brother, Larry; and a sister, Ann.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service Wednesday at Futrell Memorial Church.

Funeral service will be at noon Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. David Garmon officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield, Mo.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is handling arrangements.
