JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Mildred Marie "Billie" Burch passed away peacefully Monday, April 24, 2017, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City. Billie was born to the late George and Sophia Eggiman Hanschen in Scott City. She is survived by her nephews, Joe (Kim) Hanschen of Jefferson City and Steve (Angela) Hanschen of Dunlap, Tennessee; a niece, Maria Hanschen of Cape Girardeau; and three great-nephews, Logan Hanschen, Ryan Hanschen and Matthew Thompson...

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Mildred Marie "Billie" Burch passed away peacefully Monday, April 24, 2017, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City.

Billie was born to the late George and Sophia Eggiman Hanschen in Scott City.

She is survived by her nephews, Joe (Kim) Hanschen of Jefferson City and Steve (Angela) Hanschen of Dunlap, Tennessee; a niece, Maria Hanschen of Cape Girardeau; and three great-nephews, Logan Hanschen, Ryan Hanschen and Matthew Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Burch; a brother, Richard Hanschen; and a sister, Virginia Richardson.

Billie was loved by many, and her sense of humor always could be counted on to brighten anyone's day.

Soon after graduating high school, she began a successful career with Southwestern Bell and continued her work in the industry for 37 years.

Billie's dedication to her career was rivaled only by her loyalty to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Both avid Cardinals fans, she and her husband, Bill, traveled every spring to the Cardinals' training camp to cheer them on.

When not rooting for her team, she spent her time outdoors, tending to her flowers. Billie's quick wit and fun personality will be remembered by many.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Illinois.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Billie will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Bill, in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery at Cape Girardeau, following a 3 p.m. graveside service Saturday.

Donations may be made in Billie's memory to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville.

Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville is in charge of arrangements.
