METROPOLIS, Ill. -- Bill "Pappy" Jordan, 69, of Metropolis and formerly of Mill Creek and Mounds, died Sunday, June 25, 1995, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis. He was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Mill Creek, the son of Louis T. and Hazel Jordan. He retired in 1987 from the Allied-Signal Inc., where he was employed as a maintenance planner. METROPOLIS, Ill. -- Bill "Pappy" Jordan, 69, of Metropolis and formerly of Mill Creek and Mounds, died Sunday, June 25, 1995, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.

He was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Mill Creek, the son of Louis T. and Hazel Jordan.

He retired in 1987 from the Allied-Signal Inc., where he was employed as a maintenance planner. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Metropolis Elks Lodge 1428, American Legion Post and VFW Post in Metropolis.

Survivors include his mother, Hazel Tanner of Mounds; two sons, Dennis Jordan of Metropolis and Donnie Jordan of Bowling Green, Ky.; a brother, Harold Jordan of Valparaiso, Ind., and a granddaughter.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Aikins Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Russell Miller will officiate, and burial will be in the National Cemetery at Mound City.
