Bill Meggs Jr.

McCLURE, Ill. -- W.C. "Bill" Meggs Jr., 62, of McClure died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 26, 1948, in Wynne, Ark., to William and Zella Robertson Meggs. He married Diana Williams in November 2005. She preceded him in death July 16, 2010.

Bill was a member of Rock Springs Free Will Baptist Church in Thebes, Ill.

Survivors include two brothers, Ted Meggs of Thebes, Anthony Wayne (Sue) Meggs of Wickliffe, Ky.; four sisters, Brenda (Stan) Turner of Millersville, Rosemary Insera of Cape Girardeau, Imogene (Rick) Snell of Carbondale, Ill., Lenora (Don) Lovell of Metropolis, Ill.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five brothers, Bob, Jesse, Johnnie, Billie-Joe and James.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Bishop Jerry Whitaker officiating. Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Rock Springs Free Will Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
